20 weeks!

I'm at the official 1/2 way mark, even though technically I hit that a week ago. :) We're making lots of progress on the nursery and I think I'm going to go register this weekend. SO excited to do that!

Is it too soon to be nesting? I have this sense of urgency to get everything done JUST in case I do end up on bed rest. Plus, I figure the more we get done and out of the way now, the more we'll be able to just relax and enjoy each other's company those last weeks leading up to the babies' arrival. Here's what's currently on my to-do list:

Get the nursery put together (I have a whole separate to-do list for that)
Book a dentist & eye doc appointment
Install a carbon monoxide detector (Dan will do this)
Start stocking up on frozen dinners so we have easy meals after the babies arrive.
Keep up on the house cleaning
Have a yard sale
Register
Take the dogs to the vet for their shots
Find a pediatrician

That's it so far.. nothing crazy. I don't know if I'd call in nesting though, since I've always loved making lists and checking things off. :)

Here's my 20 week pic!

How far along: 20 weeks!

Size of baby: Two cantaloupes... Whoa!

Total weight gain/loss: I've gained about 7 lbs .. yep, I was right and I had gained 5 more lbs in the last 3 weeks. Yikes!

Maternity Clothes: Yep.. almost all bottoms are maternity, tops & dresses are a mix of maternity & non-maternity.

Gender: Two sweet little ladies

Movement: I'm 100% certain I'm feeling them now.. especially Baby B, since she doesn't have the anterior placenta like Baby A. So exciting!

Sleep: eh.. still just o.k. I've been flip flopping a lot, but I'm still sleeping most of the night.

What I miss: hm.. at the moment I honestly can't think of anything. I love being pregnant.

Cravings: As of right now, nothing.

Symptoms: Just the acid reflux, and my lower back has been aching.

Milestone: Reaching the official 1/2 way mark..

Best Moment this Week: Dan and I both feeling the babies from the outside for the first time. Dan felt a little tap, but now he can't wait for bigger movement. :)

Baby Loot

Big baby purchases make me soooo excited because it's a reminder that this is REAL. The more progress we make with the nursery, picking names, buying a stroller(!) the more real this all feels.

So, this weekend was an exciting one. First off, we received our stroller last week:

It's the Baby Jogger City Select, and we looove it. We registered for the 2nd seat and the car seat adapters, so what you're seeing in the pic is what it looks like with just one seat in. It's a tandem double stroller, which I love, since the side by side double strollers just seemed way too wide. Dan's been testing it around the house and in the back yard.. I think he actually loves it more than I do!

Then, we got the deal of all deals on Friday. I've been agonizing over what glider to buy. I really wanted one that looked more like an over sized comfy chair than a typical glider. But all the ones I could find were $400-$500, and I was having a hard time with the idea of spending that much.

We went to Burlington Coat Factory to look at their cribs and they had their gliders on clearance. I got this glider/ottoman that normally goes for $500 at Babies R Us, for only $170! SCORE! I'm so happy with it.. obviously I haven't tested it out while holding babies, but it's roomy & comfy.

Aaaand we ordered our cribs and bought our mattresses, all courtesy of Dan's parents. We should be getting them in the next week or two, so I'll post pics of them in the nursery once we get them.

Progress, progress!!

19 weeks!

Well, technically I'm a day late so I'm 19 weeks, 1 day. Half baked!!! Can you believe it? I sure can't. It seems like time is flying by ever since 1st tri ended.

One thing I've realized since finding out we're having 2 girls.. I need to hide my debit card! Buying baby clothes has become addicting, and I need some intervention. For reals.

But check out the cuteness:

A baby peacoat?? Ridic. And this picture doesn't even do it justice.

A brown corduroy dress with a giraffe on it. Not in the picture is the little matching giraffe print headband.

This one says Peace, Love, and has little peace signs all over. I can't wait for some chubby legs to poke out from the bottom. :)

Here's my 19 week bump pic:

Quiz Time!

How far along: 19 weeks!

Size of baby: Two mango's!

Total weight gain/loss: I've gained about 2 lbs .. next weigh in is Monday, and I'm positive that # has gone up.

Maternity Clothes: Yep.. almost all bottoms are maternity, tops & dresses are a mix of maternity & non-maternity.

Gender: Two sweet little ladies

Movement: Still feeling the flutters and I'm 99% sure I'm also feeling them kick now. So exciting!
Sleep: eh.. still just o.k. I've been flip flopping a lot, but I'm still sleeping most of the night.

What I miss: hm.. at the moment I honestly can't think of anything. I love being pregnant.

Cravings: This week I've been on a sugar kick and I NEED to stop.
Symptoms: Just the acid reflux, but it's not as bad as last week.

Milestone: I found my first few stretch marks. :( And they're not even on my belly! I've got a couple right about my left butt cheek (sexy) and a couple on the very top of my left leg. Weird. A better milestone to mention again is of course being officially 1/2 baked. woot!

Best Moment this Week: Finding out we're having 2 girls, shopping for baby clothes, and ordering our stroller! I'll write more on this when it arrives in the mail. I can't wait!

Sugar & spice, and everything nice...

We're having TWO GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am SO excited! The scan this morning went great, with the exception of one disappointment.. They weren't able to get a clear shot of Baby A's nasal bone, which indicates a marker for down syndrome. Our bloodwork came back awesome at 1 in 100,000, but with the marker it brings it down to 1 in 5,000. According to the doctor we spoke with, those odds are still good. And since there were no other indications pointing towards down syndrome, he doesn't think we have anything to worry about.

Of course I'm still going to be a bit worried. I'm hoping, like the doctor said, the issue was just that they couldn't get a good picture, or it hasn't fully developed at this point. Hopefully a future u/s will clear that up so we can breathe easier.

The girls (SO weird to say that) are so active! Baby A was flip flopping and being a little butt when the u/s tech tried to check out her heart. I think we have a couple trouble makers on our hands!

My cervix measured at a 4.5 which is great. They're looking for anything over a 3.. so far, so good!

I CAN'T WAIT to start really planning the nursery decorations and buying furniture.. and of course clothes! I'm not going to go nuts since I have someone from work giving me 3 bins of baby girl clothes next week (score!) but I fully intend on buying a couple cute outfits this weekend.

Lastly, here are a couple shots of each of the girls..

18 weeks!

I'll be considered 1/2 baked at 19 weeks, since the goal is to get me to 37-38 weeks. That's only a week away. Eeeeek! The babies are apparently each the size of a sweet potato. They're getting big! I can tell too by my ever expanding belleh. Check it out:

The belly has definitely gotten higher because I've had SUCH bad acid reflux the past few days. :( The only thing that seems to make it better is a milkshake or bowl of icecream. Darn. ;)

I never understood why pregnant women would go around touching their bellies.. but now that I have one, I can't stop touching it! I think because it's so foreign to me still, and it still amazes me that I have two babies growing inside of me. I have a feeling that won't sink in until they become outside babies.. Then I'll go holy crap, those were both inside of me???? haha.

Now for the infamous quiz!

How far along: 18 weeks!

Size of baby: I'm packin' two little sweet potato's

Total weight gain/loss: I've gained about 2 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Yep.. almost all bottoms are maternity, tops & dresses are a mix of maternity & non-maternity

Gender: We'll find out Friday!!

Movement: I think I'm feeling them now. I've been feeling little twinges and since the doc felt Baby B kick the doppler at our last appointment, I'm assuming I'm feeling their kicks and punches. I can't wait until it's unmistakable! :)

Sleep: eh.. It's o.k. I've been flip flopping a lot, but I'm still sleeping most of the night.

What I miss: Not having horrid acid reflux.

Cravings: Nothing really.. well, I guess milkshakes since they help with the reflux. I'm still loving fruit though, and pickles.

Symptoms: Just the acid reflux.

Milestone: It hasn't happened yet, but the anatomy scan this Friday will be a huge milestone. I'm hoping I can leave that appointment completely relieved to know they're both healthy.

Best Moment this Week: I bought my first diaper bag! It's a Skip Hop that I scored on Amazon for $65. Do you like?

Holy crap, I suck at blogging

If anyone is still out there reading.. hello! Long time no see! Seriously, I've been a bad bad blogger.

I've been busy with the holidays, work, and sick with a cold for the past 2 weeks, but honestly I think it's just been weird transitioning my blog from IF to pregnancy. Not that I ONLY used to talk about our struggles getting pregnant, but it was obviously a big part of my life, and so it was a big part of my blog.

Now that I'm pregnant I should be filling out that weekly quiz, putting up a Guess the Sex poll, and posting belly pics. I'm over the moon to be pregnant, but for some reason I've been doing a crappy job at documenting everything. Especially since there's a good chance this will be the only time I go through a pregnancy.

So, going forward I'm promising myself to be better at documenting the rest of my pregnancy. If you can believe it I'm only about a week or two away from being 1/2 baked! I'm 17 weeks today.. time is flying by. We find out the sex of the babies next Friday and my belly is growing at a rapid pace.

Here's proof:
Please excuse the I'm not feeling well, so I'm not doing my hair, and my face looks extra puffy look.

The babies are doing well, I'm doing well (besides the nasty neverending cold), and we're just truckin' along. More frequent updates to follow! Maybe I'll even start that infamous quiz..
